If Karahpur village is called the village of footballers, it is not an exaggeration. Harnandan Singh Nanda, along with his son Harmanjot Singh, has produced a dozen footballers from this village who have earned recognition at the national and international levels. My friend Gurnam Singh Bains has brought global fame to this village through photojournalism. In this chain, Coach Harinder Singh Saini started coaching in Khalsa College Mahilpur after achieving success in his playing career at JCT FC. He has excelled in both playing and coaching fields, making significant contributions in both areas. He has played on the field and taught technical skills to the players. Wherever he excels in a sport, he becomes an expert coach as well. Through his coaching techniques, the college continues to achieve excellence and success."

"Harinder Singh learned football techniques from senior players in the village's field. Then the coaches of schools and colleges in Mahilpur further honed these skills, contributing to his journey in Indian football. He played for JCT FC from 1998 to 2003 and Churchill Brothers Sports Club in Goa from 2003 to 2007. During this time, he participated in numerous national and international competitions, earning recognition at the national and international levels. He faced opponents once or multiple times, always standing strong and leaving a lasting impact throughout his playing career. With determination and strength, he proved his worth on the field. His saying is that athletes need to take care of their body and mental strength to conquer the field. His game received praise in the National Football League, DCM, Durand Cup, and Rover's Cup. Khalsa College Mahilpur adorned his achievements with numerous medals. In 1997, he won the gold medal for Punjab University at the All India Inter-University held in Bilaspur (H.P.), showcasing his significant contribution."

After completing his NIS (All India Institute of Sports) course, he has been coaching at Khalsa College, Mahilpur since 2008. Apart from coaching the college team, he actively participates in various club-level competitions and discusses his game with others. Every year, he includes more than a dozen players in the Punjab University team, which he has trained. In the past decade, his team has won the gold medal six times in the Punjab University Inter-College competitions. He has a repository of modern techniques that he successfully applies in training the athletes, enabling them to perform at their best. In 2001, he formed a partnership with Sahans, and this partnership brought happiness to his home. His daughters, Gaganjot and Simarjot Kaur, brought joy and brightness to his family. Furthermore, the entire family, being involved in the sports environment, celebrates the successes and motivates many newcomers to pursue this path so that they can have a better life.
